That’s right, folks. It’s time to blow the city dust off and head for the lake. Two weeks cottage-ing with family, seeing friends, swimming, reading, napping. AND no internet. Ahhhh . . .

Cottage cooking is quite simple and primarily comes off the grill, weather permitting. Hoping to find new potatoes, local corn on the cob, berries and (imported) Niagara peaches at a local farmer’s stall.

Contributing a few things from my freezer — cookies and cream scones for shortbread. Made a mountain of muffins the other day . . . so some of those will travel with me, too. This is a picture of my ‘yield’.

The darker ones are Farmgirl Susan’s 100% Whole Grain Basic Bran Muffin Recipe with Blueberries and the lighter coloured ones are Canadian Living’s Pumpkin Spice Muffins with Pecans.

Bye for now . . .
